WWE WrestleMania-36 Results: Highlights from Day-2

WWE WrestleMania-36 Results: Highlights from Day 2

Credit: WWE

Sunday was Night 2 of the two-day event from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. This year's show has undergone several amendments in recent weeks due to the outbreak of the Global Pandemic COVID-19 throughout the world. Due to this, matches have been added and changed daily, and for the first time, there will be no crowd in attendance for WrestleMania. For this reason, this WrestleMania-36 would be a historic one.

Saturday night, WWE delivered on its promise to give fans a memorable show with the first half of WrestleMania 36. On the second night Sunday, nine more matches had the opportunity to entertain the WWE Universe.

Let's take a look at each match from the second night of WrestleMania-36. Here is a look at the lineup for night two as it currently stands, according to WWE.com:

*Kickoff Match: Liv Morgan vs. Natalya.

*Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women's Championship.

*Aleister Black vs. Bobby Lashley.

*Otis vs. Dolph Ziggler.

*Last Man Standing Match: Edge vs. Randy Orton.

*The Street Profits vs. Angel Garza and Austin Theory for the Raw Tag Team Championship.

*Fatal 5-Way Elimination Match: Bayley vs. Lacey Evans vs. Naomi vs. Sasha Banks vs. Tamina for the SmackDown Women's Championship.

*Firefly Fun House Match: Bray Wyatt vs. John Cena.

*Drew McIntyre vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship.

KICKOFF SHOW(Day-II)-

#Match-1: Natalya vs. Liv Morgan:

Summary: this was perhaps the best match Morgan has had. Scoring a win over Natalya on the kickoff is still one of the best things she's done.

Result: Liv Morgan defeated Natalya by pinfall.

Grade: C

Main Card(Day-II)-

#Match-2: Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women's Championship:

Summary: Flair started quick, targeting their previously injured left knee of Ripley. The fight continued there as Ripley delivered a somersault senton off the ring steps to maintain control of the bout. The champion's early dominance came to an end when Flair again targeted the injured knee, hanging it up on the left leg. The figure-four leglock followed but Ripley refused to quit. Flair bridged over into Figure Eight and picked up the win and title via submission.

It was physical, intense, hard-hitting, and captured the spirit of two women who are fighting for the women's division title in NXT. In the future, Ripley will come back as a strong contender for this title.

Result: Charlotte Flair defeated Rhea Ripley by submission.

Grade: A

#Match-3: Aleister Black vs. Bobby Lashley:

Summary: Aleister Black battled Bobby Lashley in a match with no build but two stars seeking a fight on wrestling's grandest stage. Nothing to write more about in this match. Black makes reasonably quick work of Lashley. Hopefully, this leads to bigger things for him. Black was one of the toughest NXT Champions in history and he surely deserves better than this, hopefully in the future.

Result: Aleister Black defeated Bobby Lashley by pinfall.

Grade: C+

#Match-4: Otis vs. Dolph Ziggler:

Summary: Otis is a delight. His story with Mandy Rose and Dolph is classic hokey wrestling stuff. A determined and vengeful Otis attacked from the opening bell, overwhelming The Showoff with his size and strength. In the middle of the match, Deville made a distraction for Otis that allowed Ziggler to deliver a deliberate and blatant low blow. Then Mandy Rose made her way to ringside and slapped Deville before delivering a low blow of her own to Ziggler. Otis capitalized, delivered the caterpillar, and scored the win. After winning the match, both of them shared a big kiss to close out the festivities.

Result: Otis defeated Dolph Ziggler by pinfall.

Grade: A

#Match-5: Last Man Standing Match: Edge vs. Randy Orton:

Summary: Edge's nine-year journey back to WWE culminated with his return to WrestleMania in a Last Man Standing match against Randy Orton. Edge and Randy’s promos for this match have been outstanding.

Orton emerges by surprise as his entrance music plays, disguised as a cameraman in all black, setting the tone with an RKO. This is the first match to take advantage of the Performance Center setting. Edge and Orton have moved to the adjacent gym area. Edge uses the office space like a jungle gym and hits Orton with an innovative elbow drop. Changes of scenery aside, the match is starting to get repetitive. It seemed like it was going to be over when Edge drove Orton through a table. But the match goes on. Now they’re battling it out on top of a pickup truck. It went on too long but the finish was great. Edge choked out Orton and told the referee not to count. A tearful Edge stood over the unconscious body of his opponent and blasted him with a con-chair-to. The referee counted to 10 and awarded Edge the win.

A regretful Edge placed his head on his opponent's almost apologetically.

Result: Edge defeated Randy Orton.

Grade: A

#Interlude: Gronk wins the 24/7 title

#Match-6: The Street Profits vs. Angel Garza and Austin Theory for the Raw Tag Team Championship:

Summary: Not much of a story here but these are four energetic performers. The action broke down, and Theory delivered a TKO to Dawkins. Ford soared through the air, connecting with the frog splash to the back of the newcomer. Dawkins rolled over and made the pin to pick up the win. After the match, the heels attacked until Bianca Belair hit the ring to make the save, laying Vega out.

The guys got their spots in and The Street Profits retained their titles with ease. The match was too rushed to reach its full potential. The real meat of this entire ordeal was what appeared to be the official call-up of Bianca Belair.

Result: The Street Profits defeated Angel Garza and Austin Theory by pinfall.

Grade: C+

#Match-7: Fatal 5-Way Elimination Match: Bayley vs. Lacey Evans vs. Naomi vs. Sasha Banks vs. Tamina for the SmackDown Women's Championship:

Summary: First, there was the dominance of Tamina. But she was eliminated by all the other four superstars from the match. The most interesting way for this match to go would have been for Bayley and Banks to be the last two standing. Instead, Bayley accidentally knocks out Banks in the corner, and Sasha is eliminated by Lacey Evans. We’re down to Lacey and Bayley as the final two. Moments later, Banks re-entered the ring and delivered the Backstabber to Evans. Bayley capitalized and picked up the win.

The Boss' post-match body language and facial suggestions suggested she may be keeping her friend close but her enemy closer in her quest to win the women's title.

Result: Bayley defeated Lacey Evans, Naomi, Sasha Banks, and Tamina.

Grade: B

#Match-8: Firefly Fun House Match: Bray Wyatt vs. John Cena:

Summary: While we knew what to expect from the “boneyard match,” this one is a total mystery. What does the “Firefly Funhouse match” mean? We’re going to find out. It was the most coherent bit of storytelling WWE has had in years. On a practical note, it was a brilliant way to get John Cena involved in an incredibly entertaining performance without taking a bump and risking an injury.

Basically, this was a mind game played by Wyatt, the master manipulator and mind-games specialist who took Cena on a journey that contradicted everything he said. He showed WWE's most celebrated hero his own hypocrisy by having him relive some of his most memorable moments and gimmicks. This match didn't contain many wrestling moves and it is very difficult to explain this kind of match.

Result: Bray Wyatt defeated John Cena by pinfall.

Grade: B- (According to Wrestling.)

A+ (According to the unique storyline.)

#Match-9: Drew McIntyre vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship:

Summary: Despite early clubbing forearms by WWE champion Brock Lesnar at the opening bell, challenger Drew McIntyre exploded with a Claymore Kick but could not keep The Beast Incarnate down for three. The champion recovered and launched his opponent with a German suplex, then followed with consecutive F-5s, but he was unable to get the victory. A third finisher resulted in another defiant kick out by McIntyre. After that, he recovered and delivered Lesnar with three more Claymore Kicks and pinned the Beast to capture the WWE Championship.

It was a classic Brock Lesnar match, not too short but brutal. He hit McIntyre with plenty of F5s but that wasn’t enough to put away McIntyre. He defeats Lesnar to become the WWE Champion.

Result: Drew McIntyre defeated Brock Lesnar by pinfall.

Grade: A

That's it for WrestleMania-36. Finally, I conclude that this was a very happy ending show of WrestleMania-36. Huge respect and salute to the WWE Wrestlers, Authority, and Crew members for making the show a great one, despite the fact what is going on around the world in recent days. Hope you enjoy the show. Make sure to check out our previous review post regarding WrestleMania-36(Part-I). Stay Healthy, Stay Fit, and thanks for watching.
